Garage Mat FAQ

Garage Mat FAQ

Q) What side of the garage mat should be up?

A) The rough side of the mat should be face up, this side has the antiskid coating to prevent slipping.

Q) What size of mat do I need?

A) We recommend that your mat be at least 6” bigger than your vehicle all the way around. Most people think bigger is better but keep in mind you don’t want to be stepping into the slush & snow that has accumulated. You also don’t want to be tripping over the excess mat when you are walking around unloading groceries or working in your garage.

Q) Can I buy one large mat for both of my cars?

A) Yes, you can custom order a mat any size you like. We recommend, however, getting a separate mat for each of your vehicles for easier cleaning and you don’t want to be walking through the sludge that has accumulated in between your cars on the mat.

Q) What happens if I puncture a hole or tear my garage mat?

A) We carry a garage mat patch kit, it includes a range of different size patches and a can of HH66 adhesive.

Q) Do you make custom size garage mats?

A) Yes! We can make the mats pretty much any size. Please allow 3-4 days for production time.

Q) Can I use studded tires on these mats?

A) We don’t recommend using studded tires – it could cause a puncture and leak the mat’s contents onto your garage floor.

Q) How do I clean my mat?

A) Easily! You can wash your mat with mild soap and water or a pressure washer. You can also use a shop vac to clean up the dust and mud.

Q) My mat has wrinkles. When will they come out?

A) Once the mat has been unrolled and lying flat for a few days, those wrinkles should smooth out.

Q) How does your garage floor mat compare to other brands?

A) We have done a side by side comparison of our product and a competitor – check out our photos here.
